Items to avoid at ALL times

  • Soft Drinks
  • Mainstream Energy Drinks (heart & central nervous system damage)
  • Soft Plastic Bottled Water (harmful chemical called BPA in the plastic leaks into the water) 
  • Excessive Alcohol (high caloric value, fattening, empty calories, high inflammatory inducing, blood depressant, toxic, impairs judgement) 
  • Man-Made Fats – partially & full hydrogenated oils
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup or Corn Oil
  • Artificial Sweeteners (triggers large elevation in blood triglycerides, increases appetite and promotes serious weight gain)
    • Saccharin (caused cancer in rats when given over two generations)
    • Aspartame (issues can include seizures, headaches, hives, dizziness, disturbance in nerve function)
    • Splenda (sugar alcohol)
    • Agava 
  • Artificial Flavors 
    • FD&C Red #3 – used in maraschino cherries & salmon; causes thyroid cancer in rates
    •  FD&C Yellow – added to many yellow colored foods; known inducers of asthma, hives and other allergic conditions; especially in children
  • Lacitol, Sorbitol, Maltitol (sugar alcohol, causes diarrhea)
  • Hormones (found in dairy products)
  • MSG (headaches)
  • Butylated Hyroxyanisole or BHA (preservative added to many cereals; evidence of possible cancer causing agents
  • Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT) – Similar to BHA
  • Processed Foods 
    • Breads/Cereals – Enriched
    • Genetically Modified Organisms (look for “no GMO’s), Agricultural Pesticides, Herbicides, Fungicides, Insecticides
  • Nitrates/Nitrites (added to most cold cuts & hot dogs; known cancer causing compound)
  • Sulfites (sprayed on lettuces at salad bars to reduce welting; allergic reasons)
  • Bezoates/Benzoic Acid (most commonly used in preservatives; allergic reactions)
  • Phosphoric Compounds (found in soft drinks; when in access can disturb the body’s ability to absorb calcium – examples Phosphoric Acid, Calcium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate)
  • Bromates/Potassium Bromate (found in flours & breads; has been linked to kidney tumors in rats)
  • Carrageenan (filler; has been associated with colon cancer)
  • Olean (chips & crackers; abdominal cramps & diarrhea)
  • Microwavable Foods (alters the molecular content and nutrition of heated foods or liquids)
  • Most Ice Creams (fattening, a chemistry set of “bad for you” ingredients) 
  • Artificial Foods – Junk foods, fast foods (empty calories, little nutritional value), candy (empty calories, medically linked to diabetes, rots your teeth)
  • Pastry (sugary baked goods that are fattening – sorry, this also includes cookies!)
  • Deep Fried Foods (French fries, donuts, etc.)
  • Excessive Table Salt (potentially damage to the heart & blood pressure)
  • Tobacco & Recreational Drugs
